Product test – TEK.NO tests sauna blanket: Sauna on the sofa

Produkttest – TEK.NO tester saunateppe: Badstue i sofaen

When TEK.NO tested the IR Sauna Blanket Breeze, they concluded that it led to better sleep, improved recovery, more energy, and reduced muscle stiffness. They chose to use the blanket while lying on the sofa.

“If you want to get the full benefit from training and achieve maximum recovery, this product is worth considering. The same applies if you want to sleep deeper and better and fall asleep more easily.”

Portable saunas, in the form of lying saunas and sitting saunas, are becoming increasingly popular, which piqued TEK.NO's curiosity. They wanted to test the functionality of the IR Sauna Blanket Breeze and contacted Radiant Health – a Norwegian brand that offers its products in stores and online – to borrow a sauna blanket.

In their test, they based their findings on personal experiences.

Hannah Alvestad from TEK.NO started cautiously, at a low temperature (50 degrees) for 20 minutes, following recommendations from founder Siw Hansson Kaulbach, to get used to the sauna before going "full throttle."

“The sauna blanket resembles a sleeping bag, as you lie inside it, with the blanket wrapped around your entire body. This means you can safely use it on the sofa without worrying about sweat marks.”

Being able to lie with one's head outside was a big plus, to avoid headaches.

Refreshed and with more energy

The editorial team experienced several benefits with the IR Sauna Blanket Breeze, including better sleep and improved recovery after training. They felt more refreshed the day after exercise and consequently experienced a higher energy level. The sauna blanket also worked excellently for stiff muscles and helped to truly unwind.

“Perhaps the least surprising benefit of the sauna blanket was the change in sleep. It almost felt like after a long hike, and the body becomes very relaxed after using it.”

Their recommendation is to use the sauna blanket in the evening. It was particularly pleasant to snuggle into the blanket when it was chilly and cold outside. They found that the sauna blanket was definitely a product with benefits, and one that can be used both summer and winter.
