What began with serious illness and a strong wish to get her life back became the beginning of Radiant Health. In 2012, Siw Hansson Kaulbach came up with the idea of developing her own infrared sauna. Today, the company has grown into a Norwegian health and well-being brand with a broad range of infrared heat, red light therapy, food supplements and clothing.
When life took an unexpected turn
Siw Hansson Kaulbach had an exciting career as Nordic communications manager in Copenhagen when life suddenly took a dramatic turn.
She became seriously ill, with severe pain, neurological symptoms and an exhaustion that eventually made it impossible to keep working. In the end, she had to move back to her parents in Norway, where she spent long periods bedridden in a dark bedroom.
After several years of examinations and various diagnoses, she was found to have Lyme disease and other infections. The road back to a normal life would turn out to be both long and demanding.
But in the midst of her illness, she discovered something that would prove important for the future.

From warehouse and logistics to her own well-being routines: glimpses of Siw Hansson Kaulbach's everyday life as a founder of Radiant Health.
The discovery that became the start of something bigger
During her treatment, Siw was introduced to infrared sauna. She found that the heat brought relief to a body marked by pain and tension, and over time the sauna became an important part of her personal health routine.
She wanted an infrared sauna at home, but could not find any solutions that met her expectations for quality, functionality and ease of use.
In 2012, she therefore came up with the idea of developing her own portable infrared sauna.
From her sickbed, she began researching materials, heating elements and various technical solutions. The goal was to create a sauna that could be used at home, without major installation or the need for much space.
When the first 50 saunas arrived in Oslo, she knew little about what the future would bring. She had no grand business plans, but a genuine wish to make infrared heat available to more people.
That was the start of Radiant Health.

Life with small children and the everyday life of a founder have gone hand in hand while building Radiant Health.
From family business to independent brand
Radiant Health was established within the family business Sivilingeniør Njål Hansson AS, which Siw's mother founded as early as 1971.
With access to existing warehousing, logistics and administration, Siw was able to build the business gradually while still affected by illness.
But the road from a small founder's idea to an established brand has demanded a great deal of personal effort.
Over the years, Siw has worn most hats in the company. She has worked on everything from product development, warehousing and logistics to customer service, marketing and sales, while also being the public face of the brand.
Along the way, she also became a mother of two. Juggling life with small children while building an ever-growing business has been both rewarding and demanding, with many long working days and a constant need to balance work and family life.
In September 2025, she took a new and important step in her journey as a founder. Having built up Radiant Health through the family business, she spun off the entire operation into her own limited company, Radiant Health AS.
With a dedicated team, new premises and growing international ambitions, this marked the start of a new chapter.

Glimpses from the first years of Radiant Health: from product presentations and warehouse work to life as a founder with small children.
From one infrared sauna to a whole world of health
When Radiant Health was established, infrared sauna was still relatively unknown in Norway. Siw was among the pioneers who introduced portable infrared saunas to the Norwegian market.
Over the years, interest grew and the range was continually developed.
What began with a single infrared sauna has, in 2026, grown into a broad health and well-being universe.
Today, Radiant Health offers not only infrared saunas and sauna blankets, but also advanced red light therapy for the face and body, food supplements such as electrolytes and magnesium, and its own clothing collection developed in collaboration with the Norwegian clothing brand Ella&il.
The common thread remains the same: products that may support recovery, well-being and good health routines in everyday life.
The company has also grown considerably, with a strong position in the Norwegian and Nordic markets and growing international ambitions.
In 2026, Radiant Health also received an award at the ELLE Beauty Awards, in recognition of the company's work with innovative well-being products.

A personal passion for helping others
Although Radiant Health has developed enormously since the start, the personal story remains the very foundation of the company.
For Siw, the driving force has never been only about developing and selling products. It has largely been about a genuine wish to help other people achieve better health and a better quality of life.
Her own experience of long-term illness has given her a deep understanding of how much health matters, and how valuable it can be to find solutions that make everyday life a little better.
Over the years, she has received countless messages from customers who describe how the products have had a positive impact on their lives. These stories have been among her most important sources of motivation.
At the same time, curiosity and interest in research on heat, light therapy and the body's own mechanisms have been an important driving force behind the development of new products.
For Siw, health is about more than the absence of illness. It is about looking after the body, prioritising recovery and creating good routines that may support better physical and mental well-being.
Today, Siw is a founder, managing director and mother of two, with an everyday life in stark contrast to the years when she was seriously ill.
But one thing has not changed: the wish to develop products she believes in, uses and can stand behind.
What began as a personal wish to get her life back has become a passion for helping others take better care of their own health.
And that is still the heart of Radiant Health.
