Electricity Consumption and Infrared Heat

Strømforbruk og infrarød varme

Power Consumption: How Much Does an Infrared Sauna Cost? In a time of high electricity prices, many are concerned about the cost of using an infrared sauna or other infrared heating products. "People are very surprised when they find out how low the price is," says Radiant Health founder, Siw Hansson Kaulbach.

"Prices vary from north to south and you have to look at your region, but right now in Oslo (June 2023), with an average price of 87 øre/kWh, it costs approximately 39 øre for 30 minutes in an infrared sauna."

When electricity prices were at their highest this winter, it cost approximately NOK 2.70 for half an hour in the sauna in Oslo.

"Using an infrared sauna is an inexpensive way to take care of your health and yourself," smiles Siw, adding that she has received inquiries from people who have stopped using IR saunas because they are afraid of increased electricity prices at a time when a shower could cost up to NOK 100. All products have very low power consumption.

"I can assure you that all products have very low power consumption. Even with high electricity prices, it doesn't cost much to treat yourself to some extra 'me-time,' whether it's for well-being, faster recovery, pain relief, or anything else."
