Radiant Health warms up hope in the fight against breast cancer
October is the month when all of Norway turns pink through the Pink Ribbon campaign – an international popular movement that is marked all over the world every year.
This year, as last year, Radiant Health is part of the team – with a unique sauna in pink bamboo fabric, IR SaunaPod Pink Edition, designed as a symbol of hope, community and strength.
– Many may remember the pink sauna from last year. We experienced great demand and interest from people who wanted such a model. Therefore, we have produced a limited number, a limited edition, where 15 percent of the profit goes to this year's Pink Ribbon campaign, says founder Siw Hansson Kaulbach.
The sauna is designed to show solidarity with everyone affected by breast cancer, and at the same time contribute to vital research.
In Norway, the Pink Ribbon campaign has been organized since 1999, and has raised over 530 million Norwegian kroner for research, support, and increased awareness of early detection.

Health as a core mission
For Siw, health – and the ability to help others – is the driving force behind Radiant Health.
– We have always had a clear focus on women's health, and collaborate with a number of organizations working in this field. Breast cancer is a diagnosis that affects many women – either directly or through family, friends and acquaintances. Most people know or have heard of someone who has been affected.
Experience shows that increased attention, awareness and research efforts lead to both increased funding and better diagnostic and treatment methods. In the last five-year period, the proportion of women who live for at least five years after a breast cancer diagnosis has risen to over 90 percent.
– By continuing to inform and focus on breast cancer, we can contribute to even more knowledge in society. This increases the chance of early diagnosis, rapid treatment and better survival in the future, says Siw, who herself has experienced how close cancer can affect – both in her family and among close friends.
– Breast cancer affects so many of us. When it hits someone you love, it hurts even more. That's why research and prevention are so incredibly important – to save lives and provide the best possible quality of life.
She also points out that Norway can still take important steps forward – for example by offering mammography from age 40, as many European countries do.
Positive feedback
– Pink Sauna October is my way of giving back to the community. What makes all the work with Radiant Health worth it, is the many positive feedbacks I receive on how infrared sauna can help in everyday life, says Siw.
Several customers have shared experiences with infrared sauna after cancer treatment.
– I cannot give medical advice – that is always up to the doctor. But many say that infrared sauna helps them recover after treatment, gives more energy and relieves fatigue. That makes me incredibly happy.
